Sometimes all a mystery needs to keep from becoming a mystery is a fast, effective search. We've mentioned Tomnod before. It's a website we love that has crowd-sourced satellite search capabilities for unfolding mysteries and disappearances nearly as soon as they have happened.
They've set up a campaign for AirAsia Flight QZ 8501. As far as we can tell they usually strive for a 500% search, allowing at least 5 folks to view each grid looking for wreckage or oil slicks (in this case).
It's kind of a neat way to tune out and do something both mindless and good for the world, so if you've got a little OCD and like to do this sort of stuff, head over to Tomnod.com and get involved!
UPDATE, Debris field found.
